The company, in its early years primarily exported snow peas and sugar snaps in bulk format to the United States; seven years later, it introduced retail packs in trays, pioneering value added exports of fresh vegetables from Guatemala into the United Kingdom. 35 years later, with a strong Commitment to Excellence!, Grupo SIESA is now a vertically integrated operation involved in growing, research and development, processing and commercializing a wide array of value added fresh vegetables and presentations, from bulk and food service to retail and ready to use formats; the company has grown to supply major prestigious renowned retailers worldwide, in the United States, UK, Scandinavian Countries and Continental Europe, among others, positioning itself as a leader in its category in Guatemalan exports. Continuous investments from equipment and technology, to human resources and associated growers allow Siesa nowadays to plant over 2,500 acres, provide direct employment to over 900 workers and indirect employment to over 2,500 families of small scale entrepreneurial growers.
